Is MOBA Legends: 5v5 the same as MLBB (Mobile Legends)?
By Harsh Anand (NanduFinix) · Updated 28 October 2026
Short answer: in India, the game is called MOBA Legends: 5v5, but most players still say MLBB, Mobile Legends or Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. They all mean the same game for you as a player, and the same diamonds.
Why there are two names
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was banned in India in 2020. In April 2024, MOBA Legends: 5v5 appeared on Google Play in India, and Indian players moved to it. Outside India the game is still called Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, which is why videos, guides and players everywhere still use “MLBB”.
What it means for topping up
